【摘要】:Allplutoniummaterialscoveredinthistestmethodareusedinthepreparationofnuclear-reactorfuels.Inordertobesuitableforthispurpose,thematerialsmustmeetspecifiedcriteriaforplutoniumcontent.Thistestmethodisusedtoverifytheplutoniumcontent.AprimarystandarddichromatesuchasthatavailablefromNationalInstituteofStandardsandTechnology(NIST)oradichromatetraceabletoaprimarystandardsuchasNewBrunswickLaboratory(NBL)plutoniumstandard,isrequiredforthistechnique.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofplutoniuminunirradiatednuclear-gradeplutoniumdioxide,uranium-plutoniummixedoxideswithuranium(U)/plutonium(Pu)ratiosupto21,plutoniummetal,andplutoniumnitratesolutions.Optimumquantitiesofplutoniumtomeasureare7to15mg.1.2Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
