【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandardspecifiestwotestmethodsfordeterminingtherefractiveindexofplastics,namely:—MethodA:arefractometricmethodformeasuringtherefractiveindexofmouldedparts,castorextrudedsheetorfilm,bymeansofarefractometer.Itisapplicablenotonlytoisotropictransparent,translucent,colouredoropaquematerialsbutalsotoanisotropicmaterials.Themethodisrecommendedwhengreataccuracyisrequired.Itisnotapplicabletopowderedorgranulatedmaterial.—MethodB:animmersionmethod(makinguseoftheBeckelinephenomenon)fordeterminingtherefractiveindexofpowderedorgranulatedtransparentmaterialsbymeansofamicroscope.Monochromaticlightshould,ingeneral,beusedtoavoiddispersioneffects.TheaccuracyofthismethodisaboutthesameasthatofmethodA.Itisapplicabletoisotropictranslucent,colouredmaterialsbutisnotapplicabletoopaquematerialsnortoanisotropicmaterials.NOTE1Therefractiveindexisafundamentalpropertywhichcanbeusedforcheckingpurityandcomposition,fortheidentificationofmaterialsandforthedesignofopticalparts.Thechangeinrefractiveindexwithtemperaturemaygiveanindicationoftransitionpointsofmaterials.NOTE2TheaccuracyofmethodBisapproximatelythesameasthatofmethodAwhenanexperiencedoperatorusesthemethodwithextremecare(seeclause7).
